There was a beautiful harvest moon last night.
Ray took this shot for us.
Wasn't it beautiful!
As I was heading up to the garden a few minutes ago, I spied this little guy running across the deck.
He was so quick, I barely got this pic of him.
The butternut squash continues to bloom and grow.
I've been collecting recipes and look forward to harvesting them. Thing is, the vines will have to die first or the squash will not cure to last all winter. We're going to store them in the spring house. They will stay cool in there.
I can't make as many trips to the garden like I used to. The emphysema has gotten worse and so the doctor is trying a new medication this time. I hope it's better than the last one I tried. It made me worse. I just took my second dose so we'll see. I'll try to post as often as I can, but with the computer on the second floor, some days it's just too big of a journey to make it upstairs.
That was a beautiful moon shot and the butternut squash is looking good.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had emphysema. I'm really sorry. I pray you get the best medicine delivered from the hand of God.
Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. I agree with you that God's power is manifest through our weaknesses. That's why I shared it. I also assume some may be critical of me afterword.
I'll be checking in on you, though I won't be posting at my blog for a while. I need time to pray more about the trip to Venezuela.
God bless xox
The harvest moon. Fall is just around the corner - Fall is my favorite season. I love them all but fall is top of the list. I love the colors, smells, crisp air, and apple cider. I guess that sums it up. The pictures are wonderful!
ReplyDeletePlease take good care of your self, does the heat make your emphysema worse? Hope the meds are perfect for your body and do all they are meant to do. Your friend from the roost.
Hi Robin!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are excellent. Your seasons are quite a bit ahead of ours because we don't really get autumn until the end of September (although the weather over the last few weeks belies this!).
Aren't you lucky to be able to grow so many different things, I wish I had the room! I make a lovely butternut squash soup which is slightly curried (and it works well with pumpkin too) so I'll make some and put it in my recipes on the blog in a couple of weeks.
I really hope your new medication helps you to feel much better soon, but in the meantime you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Beautiful pictures, I love the moon one :)
ReplyDeleteReally hope your new medication helps you Robin. I'm sending you lots of positive vibes xxxx
Robin, I didn't know you had emphysema either. I pray that you can find a medicine to work so that you can start doing the things you want to do again.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! How can I not feel better with all of my friends wishing me well. Thank you so very much. :)
ReplyDeleteThe new medicine has given me hives, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, cold sweats and dry mouth after only three days. My doctor said he's at a loss on what to try next, other than to send me to a specialist. So I've decided to take matters into my own hands and stop being a lab rat for the drug companies. Their products are poison...period.
Instead, I'm going to continue the inhaler that did no harm, and go on a strict diet. I have a lot of weight to lose and that's gotta help my breathing more than anything else.
Sometimes you have to get angry in order to get better. I'm sick of being sick and tired of being tired, so it's time I look after myself for a change.
I really appreciate all of you and I feel very fortunate to have your thoughts and prayers.
